Design Changes the Future

Where, then, does the future of robots lie?

Superior mechanical performance demands not merely strength, but—even more so—toughness and malleability. The ability to maintain structural integrity and resist brittle fracture under intense vibration is precisely what constitutes true resilience in the conduct of life.

Mechanical Future

When machines are capable of not only undertaking all material production but even simulating creativity and consciousness, how do we define human uniqueness? Perhaps the future of machines is not to render humanity obsolete, but rather—assuming a stance of “post-survival”—to compel us to liberate ourselves from the state of being “beings of labor,” ushering us into a “post-work era” characterized by de-functionalization and a quest for profound meaning and existential beauty.

Machines will become our extended senses and intelligence within the universe, while we, in turn, will become the “observers” and “co-evolvers” of these magnificent creations.

They may not meet your specific needs, but they are still highly valuable for learning purposes.

Different products and different requirements result in vastly different equipment designs; however, sound structural design never goes out of style.
